Fatehabad, September 18 (HS). A jail Lok Adalat was organized in Central Jail 2 Hisar on Wednesday. Three cases pending in different courts were kept under the chairmanship of the Secretary of District Legal Services Authority and CJM, in which one prisoner was released. In these 3 cases, one prisoner was freed from the sentence.
CJM Gayatri said that Jail Lok Adalat is held every month in which cases are settled on the spot in the district jail. During this, CJM Gayatri conducted a surprise inspection of the district jail. She inquired from the jail administration about the undertrial women prisoners and inquired about the facilities being provided to the undertrial women prisoners, regarding which no verbal complaint was given. The prisoners were made aware of their rights that if they do not have a lawyer to defend their case, then they can take a free lawyer from the District Legal Services Authority so that he can plead their case in the court. CJM Gayatri said that all types of legal assistance and information can be taken by phone on the helpline number 01667-231174 and toll free number 1800-180-2057 of the District Legal Services Authority Fatehabad from 9.30 am to 5 pm on any working day. Apart from this, the jail premises were also inspected and found to be clean.
