Gwalior, September 18 (HS). The stock limit for wheat storage has been fixed by the government. This limit has been fixed in the Gazette of India for the period from 9 September 2024 to 31 March 2025. Additional Collector Anju Arun Kumar and Kumar Satyam held a meeting with the representatives of the city's business organizations, Food Department, Civil Supplies Corporation, Warehousing Corporation, Mandi Secretary and Deputy Director Agriculture on Wednesday and gave detailed information about the stock limit of wheat and its related provisions.
It was clarified in the meeting that if a trader has wheat stock more than the prescribed limit, then he can bring his stock to the prescribed limit within 15 days from the date of issue of the notification i.e. 9 September 2024.
District Supply Controller Vipin Kumar Srivastava said that as per the notification published in the Gazette of India, traders and wholesalers will be allowed to stock up to 2 thousand tonnes of wheat. A limit of 10 tonnes has been set for each retailer's outlet. Similarly, big chain retailers will be able to keep 10 tonnes of stock for each outlet. A total of 10 outlets of the depot will be approved. Traders will have to mandatorily display the status of stock on the portal by dividing 60 percent of the monthly installed capacity in the remaining months of the current financial year on the basis of provisions.
To ensure compliance of the stock limit of wheat, the state government has also published a notification in the gazette and authorized the Collector, Additional Collector, Joint Collector, Deputy Collector, Tehsildar, District Supply Controller, Assistant Supply Officer and Junior Supply Officer. All the officers will ensure compliance of the stock by searching the business premises within the limits of their respective districts. All of them have been given powers to enter, search and acquire the business premises etc.
Government servants cleaned their offices holding brooms
Government servants are also taking active part in the “Swachhata hi seva” fortnight being celebrated in the district on the theme of “Swabhaav Swachhata-Sanskar Swachhata”. On Wednesday, on the second day of the fortnight too, government servants in various government offices cleaned their office premises with brooms in their hands. In District Panchayat office, Dabra, under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Usha Sharma, other officers and employees of the office cleaned with brooms. Similarly, in other offices of the district, government servants cleaned their offices.
