Fatehabad, September 18 (HS). Former Union Sports Minister and Himachal Pradesh MP Anurag Thakur reached Ratia on Wednesday and campaigned for BJP candidate Sunita Duggal. Anurag Thakur addressed public meetings in a dozen villages and appealed for votes for Sunita Duggal.
Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur and other BJP leaders were welcomed by the villagers on their arrival in Ratia city, villages Chanchak, Katakhedi, Boswal, Dhid, Bahalbhumiya, Rajabad, Rampura and other villages falling under Ratia assembly constituency. In the public meetings here, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has established new dimensions of development in the country. Schemes were made for the upliftment of every section along with youth and women. Today there is no such section in the country for which the central and state government has not provided the benefit of the scheme. In the meetings, Sunita Duggal targeted the previous Congress governments and said that the previous governments did nothing in the name of development of the state. More than half of the population of the state is in rural areas. Especially more than 88 percent of the population of Ratia assembly constituency lives in villages, but it is unfortunate that the previous governments did not pay any attention.
In the last 10 years, the BJP government of the state has tried to provide facilities to every village. Whether it is about providing 24-hour electricity, uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water or upgrading the school. Apart from this, sports stadiums and gymnasiums were built in the villages to attract the youth towards education and sports. He said that if the people of the area give him a chance, then in the coming time, there will be e-library in every village of Ratia assembly so that boys and girls do not have to go out to study. On this occasion, Chairman of Harcofed and former District President Ved Phoolan, Thakur Bhawani Singh, former Youth President of the state Rahul Rana, District General Secretary Jagjit Hooda, Bibo Indora, Manju Bajigar, Mandal President Hawa Singh, Harish Ahuja Mandal President, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Representative Subhash Khichad and many workers were present.
