Darjeeling, September 18 (HS). Siliguri Police Commissioner C Sudhakar had announced the launch of “Pink Mobile Van” for women's safety before Durga Puja. Under this, the Pink Mobile Van was inaugurated in Darjeeling on Wednesday. The inauguration was done by IG North Bengal Rajesh Kumar Yadav.
Darjeeling Police said that keeping in mind the safety of women, pink vans will be specially deployed in colleges, girls hostels and crowded places. At the same time, as soon as any untoward incident with women is reported, a van full of women police personnel will reach the concerned place.
