Sitharaman met JBIC Governor Hayashi Nobumitsu, many issues were discussed | News India

New Delhi, September 17 (HS). Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Governor Hayashi Nobumitsu here on Tuesday. During this meeting, the two leaders discussed issues. Along with this, exchanged views on the recent activities of JBIC in India.

In a statement released on 'X' post, the Finance Ministry said that Union Finance Minister Sitharaman met JBIC Governor Hayashi Nobumitsu in New Delhi. The discussion during this meeting focused on the success of the India-Japan Fund and the possibilities for Japanese companies to invest and benefit from the opportunities created by reforms and policy initiatives in India.

The ministry said that during the meeting, Union Finance Minister Sitharaman mentioned that India and Japan will complete 10 years of special strategic and global partnership in 2024. During the discussion, the Finance Minister said that in such a situation, India and Japan should explore ways to accelerate the partnership by adding new areas and deepening existing cooperation. At the same time, the JBIC Governor praised the initiative of the Government of India towards facilitating investment and said that they would explore the possibilities of cooperation for investment in sectors like semiconductors, logistics, renewable energy etc.
