Fatehgarh Sahib: Vigilance has arrested Jagjit Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. Vigilance Bureau Patiala Range Patiala spokesperson said that Khushpal Singh, resident of village Nolkha, district Fatehgarh Sahib, had lodged a complaint in the police station about fraud by a person named Jasveer Singh in the name of selling buffalo. Jasveer Singh sent Khushpal Singh to sell buffalo in the morning asking him to withdraw money from the bank, then he continued committing fraud.
Khushpal Singh had sent an application in this regard to SSP Fatehgarh Sahib by post, which was sent to Chief Police Officer Mulepur District Fatehgarh Sahib for investigation. The investigation was being conducted by constable Jagjit Singh, police station Mulepur district Fatehgarh Sahib. Constable Jagjit Singh had agreed between both the parties that four installments of Rs 84 thousand would be given to Khushpal Singh at the rate of Rs 21 thousand per installment.
Khushpal Singh received Rs 15,000 as first installment through PhonePe. Constable Jagjit Singh was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Khushpal Singh from this installment. Constable Jagjit Singh was arrested red-handed by the team of Sukhminder Singh Chauhan, Vice-Captain of Police, Vigilance Bureau, Unit Fatehgarh Sahib, while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Khushpal Singh.
