Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched Odisha government's women-centric scheme 'Subhadra'. He also unveiled railway and national highway projects worth over Rs. 3,800 crore. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of a Rs. 2,871 crore national highway project in the state. At a function at Janata Maidan here, he collected Rs. 1,000 crore national highway project.
All work is being done as promised
On this occasion, PM Modi said that the promises we made before the elections are being fulfilled rapidly. The BJP government is working day and night to serve the people. Today is also special for another reason, today the NDA government is completing 100 days at the Center. During this time, big decisions have been taken for the empowerment of the poor, farmers, youth and women power. After coming to power in Odisha, as promised, we opened Ratna Bhandar in Puri's Jagannath Temple. After launching the Subhadra Yojana, PM Modi said that women empowerment is important for the development of Odisha.
What is Subhadra Yojana?
Under the Subhadra scheme, an amount of Rs 50,000 will be provided to all eligible beneficiaries aged between 21 and 60 years over a period of five years from 2024-25 to 2028-29. Under this, an amount of Rs 10,000 will be sent to the bank account of the beneficiaries every year in two equal installments. So far 76 lakh women have registered under the scheme. In this program, money was deposited in the bank accounts of more than 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme. More than 1250 crores were transferred.
