In-form Paris Olympics bronze medallists India will start as favourites to take on South Korea in the first semi-final of the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament on Monday.

India has not lost a single match in the tournament so far. It has won all its five league matches. The team led by Harmanpreet Singh started its campaign with a 3-0 win over hosts China. After this, it defeated Japan 5-1, Malaysia 8-1. They also won 2-1 against Pakistan.

This will be the 62nd international match between South Korea and India. Both the teams played for the first time in the Tokyo Olympics in 1958. Still, India defeated South Africa in 2019. India has won 38 matches so far and South Korea has won 11 matches while 12 matches ended in a draw. The final match between the two was played in the pool stage of the Asian Champions Trophy in which India defeated them 3-1. After this, Pakistan lost. Team India's performance in the tournament has been excellent so far.
