What is love? Understanding this is the biggest dilemma of most people. This is a question whose solution has been sought since ancient times. Millions of books have been written about love and philosophers of every era have also made many attempts to explain the nature of love. The word 'love' is used by most of us to express our feelings towards various relationships. Just as there is love between parents and children, similarly brothers, sisters and relatives also love each other. There is mutual affection among friends.
Apart from this, we also love our country and often we are also attached to our property. It has been found that in some countries people are also fascinated by their pets. Usually when we think of love, we think of the mutual love between a man and a woman. Apart from this, we sometimes talk about the love of the entire human race and the entire creation. The experience of love is different for every human relationship or inanimate objects such as one's home or one's personal belongings, but every form of love has some qualities that are similar.
Just like in love for any object in this world, there is attachment towards that object. We need the person we love very much. We keep attachment for that person in our heart and are afraid that we might lose that object.
Whether it is love for one's family or friends, whether it is love for one's lover or one's property or one's country, these qualities of love are always present in it. This is always felt in every experience of love. Saints and great men explain to us that the external love of this world lasts only for some time. Eternal love can be found only through God. To experience the love of God, we have to awaken the love for the entire creation within us.
