According to reports, Talatala police station received information about an unknown bag at around 2:30 pm (01.45) on Saturday afternoon. While checking the bag, the bag exploded. A garbage picker was injured. The explosion took place in a plastic bag at Blochman St and SN Banerjee Road. A person passing by tried to pick up the bag and it exploded.
After the blast, the entire area has been cordoned off and searched. The BDDS team has been called to the spot. The BDDS team has alerted the entire area.
The injured person was living on the footpath
At the hospital, the injured man identified himself as Bapi Das (58). He said he had no job and had recently started living on the SN Banerjee footpath after wandering around.
