Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. On the completion of 75 years of Hindi as the official language of the country, Amit Shah wrote in a post on the social media handle X that all Indian languages are our pride and heritage and we cannot move forward without enriching them. Official language status to Hindi in Devanagari script
This day is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. The Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in Devanagari script as the official language along with English. On this day in the year 1949, the Constituent Assembly declared Hindi as the official language of India. However, the first Hindi Diwas was celebrated on 14 September 1953.
