Bulandshahr, 06 March (Hindustan Reporter). The SC-ST court in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, while giving a historic verdict on Wednesday, has sentenced the culprit to life imprisonment in the case of religious conversion. A fine of Rs 4 lakh 56 thousand has also been imposed on him.
Vipul Raghav, posted as Special Prosecutor in the SC-ST Court, said that this entire matter is of March 2022. While giving a complaint in Gulavathi police station, a woman named Anita (fictitious name) said that a young man named Anish pretended to be Akash and tricked her into converting her religion. He changed her from Anita to Ayesha and raped her.
During this time, he absconded with cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh and one of his neck chains. When it came to the notice of the woman that the accused youth was not Akash but Anish. He was already married so he took help of law. The police registered a report of the incident in religious conversion and investigated the matter. The accused was arrested. The accused also presented its side in the court in the case.
On the other hand, the victim woman also presented evidence regarding religious conversion, rape and being an SC-ST. On Wednesday, after listening to the arguments of both the parties, the court gave a historic verdict by declaring him guilty in all the sections and sentenced the convict Anish to life imprisonment (till death). Besides, a fine of Rs 4 lakh 56 thousand has been imposed on different charges in this case.
When the charges are framed, the accused says that he is innocent and cases have been filed against him unnecessarily. He will appeal against the order in a higher court.
