Shimla: The case of illegal construction of a mosque in Himachal Pradesh has spread from Shimla to Mandi and Bilaspur. After Shimla, now Hindus took to the streets in Mandi to protest against the illegal mosque. They blocked the roads for about 5.30 hours and protested by reciting Hanuman Chalisa. Similarly, a case of an illegal mosque has come to light in Ghumarvi of Bilaspur. Hindu Jagran Manch and Sangh Sanstha have opposed the ongoing construction of the mosque.
After strong protests and agitation by Hindus over the illegal construction of a mosque in Sanjauli, Shimla, the mosque committee has agreed to confiscate or demolish the illegal construction to maintain a harmonious atmosphere in the state. The controversy is yet to subside and the controversy over the illegal mosque located on Jail Road in Mandi, Himachal has escalated. On Friday, the Commissioner Court in Mandi gave the decision to demolish the illegal construction. However, the Muslim side was given 30 days to appeal.
After this decision, the anger of Hindu organizations erupted and they came out on the streets. They protested by reciting Hanuman Chalisa on the road itself. The District Magistrate implemented Section 163 in seven wards. However, Hindu organizations came out on the streets and insisted on immediate demolition of the illegal construction of the mosque. At present, heavy police force has been deployed in the area. The police had to use water cannon to disperse the crowd of Hindus.
Hindu organizations claim that the mosque on Mandi's Jail Road has been constructed illegally. This mosque is built on the land of the Public Works Department. Commissioner HS Rana said in his decision that the mosque has not received NOC from the Public Works Department. Some part of the mosque is built on the land of the Public Works Department. Despite the information about the system, Muslims built a two-storey mosque. The Muslim Welfare Society has illegally occupied about 33 square meters of land.
Meanwhile, the issue of illegal construction of a mosque in Ghumarvi of Bilaspur district has also been raised. Hindu Jagran Manch and Samvedna Sanstha have raised questions on the construction work going on in the mosque. They said that the construction work of the second floor of the 36-year-old mosque is going on in Ward-1 Baddu of Ghumarvi Nagar Parishad. But the map for this has not been passed by the Nagar Parishad. The council does not even have any record related to the mosque.
