Maha Kumbh is going to be organized in the city of faith and religion Prayagraj. Before Maha Kumbh, there is a demand to change the name of the procession taken out on the occasion of the entry of Akharas into the city and the royal bath of Akharas on major bathing festivals. Sadhus and saints are demanding to change the name of the Mughal era procession and royal bath. Saints and mahatmas of many Akharas gathered at Shri Panchayati Akhara Bada Udasin located in Kidganj of Sangam city Prayagraj have once again raised the demand to change the name of procession and royal bath. However, the final decision in this regard is to be taken by the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, the supreme body of saints.
On changing the name of Peshwai and Shahi Snan, Nirvani Akhara's saint Mahant Gopaldasji Maharaj says that man and nation should also change with time. He supported the demand of saints to change the name of Peshwai and Shahi Snan. He said that in our ancient tradition, words of Mughal era should be removed and Sanskrit words should be used. He said that for Peshwai and Shahi Snan, such words should be used which are related to Sanatan and which we are proud of.
The saints supported
Mahant Gopal Dasji Maharaj said that instead of Shahi Snan, it can be called Divya Snan, Amrit Snan or Shahi Snan. At the same time, the saints have also supported the demand to change the name of the procession taken out at the city entrance of the Akharas before Kumbh and to change the name of the entrance of the cantonment. Actually, before Kumbh and Mahakumbh, Mahamandaleshwar and Mandaleshwar Mahant of the Akharas, Shri Mahant and other Rishi saints enter the city with bands and flags of the Akharas, this tradition is known as Peshwai. But now there is a demand to call the Peshwa to the cantonment entrance. According to Mahant Gopal Dasji Maharaj, when a war broke out between two kings, it was called entry into the cantonment. According to Mahant Gopal Dasji, soon there will be a meeting between the officials of all the Akharas in which an appropriate decision will be taken on this matter.
Akharas are very ancient institutions
In this case, according to Mahant Yamuna Puri Maharaj, Secretary of Shripanchayat Akhada Mahanirvani, Akharas are very ancient institutions. According to him, many items in the Akharas are from the Mughal period. He has said that as far as the royal bath and changing the names of the Peshwas are concerned, Urdu and Persian words are used in court and government work. The details of Peshwai and Shahi Snan are also present in the old documents of the Akhara, but Mahant Yamuna Puri says that if the name is to be changed, then corrections will have to be made everywhere. He said that before the Kumbh Mela, several meetings of the All India Akhara Parishad are proposed in which a decision will be taken unanimously after discussion. He has said that the world is changing and Hindi is our mother tongue, so we should be proud of our language and dialect.
There is a possibility of both factions uniting
Mahant Yamuna Puri has said that culturally all the Akhadas are the same, all the Akhadas take bath at their respective scheduled times. The procession is also taken out on time. He said that there is no difference between the Akhadas. All the Akhadas are followers of the Sanatan tradition. It is the responsibility of all the Akhadas to propagate the Sanatan Dharma and all the Akhadas are doing this.
