In the last 24 hours, 21 people have died due to rain in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. These deaths have occurred in different incidents. 10 people have died in UP while 11 people have died in Madhya Pradesh.
In Uttar Pradesh, 10 people have died in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours. According to the Relief Commissioner's Office, five people have died in Mainpuri, two each in Jalaun and Banda and one in Etah in incidents related to heavy rains during the last 24 hours.
The weather department has issued warnings of excessive rain, flash floods and other rain-related incidents in more than a dozen districts of Awadh and Rohilkhand region. State Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said, “In view of the recent rains, Flood PAS, NDRF teams have been deployed as per requirement for round-the-clock monitoring of heavy rain districts.”

Seven people were killed when the wall of a medieval fort located near a house collapsed due to heavy rains in Khalkapura area of Datia town around 4 am. A team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) arrived from Hyderabad in Telangana during the day and joined the rescue operation in Gwalior, which received 198.4 mm rainfall in a 24-hour period till 8:30 am, an official said.
