WB: Doctors did not come to meet CM after not agreeing to the conditions, Mamata offered to resign from the post of CM | News India

West Bengal: The conflict between the government and the medical staff continues over the murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. On Thursday, a team of doctors reached Nabanna for a meeting on this issue. However, the meeting could not be held here. Regarding the meeting, Mamata Banerjee said that the solution is possible only through talks. She said that we waited for two hours to meet the junior doctors, but they did not come to the meeting place. Then Mamata had said that she is ready to resign from the post of Chief Minister of West Bengal.

Mamata said, I am ready to resign from the post of Chief Minister of West Bengal. I am not worried about the post. I want justice, I am only concerned about getting justice. She further said, I tried to talk to the junior doctors three times to end the deadlock in the RG Tax case. We had a video recording of the meeting with the junior doctors, we can share it with the permission of the Supreme Court. The Bengal CM said that the meeting with the junior doctors could not be broadcast live as per their demand because the RG Tax case is pending in the court.

Bengal CM said, I tried my best to meet the junior doctors. Even when they did not accept the Supreme Court's decision, I spoke to my top officials including my Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DG and my Minister of State. I regret making them wait for three days. I apologize to the people of this country and the world who are supporting them (doctors), please extend your support. I have no problem. We want justice for the common people. We want justice for the treatment of common people. We want them to return to their duty as directed by the Supreme Court. However, 3 days have passed since the Supreme Court's decision but we are not taking any disciplinary action because sometimes we have to tolerate it. Sometimes it is our duty to tolerate.

Doctor reached Nabanna in the evening but did not meet
It is said that the delegation reached the secretariat under police protection at around 5:30 pm, while the earlier meeting time was fixed at 5 pm. Despite the status of 15 people given by the state government, 30 doctors reached Nabanna. However, before starting the protest outside Arogya Bhavan, the protesters said that they are not at all ready to back down from their demand for live telecast of the meeting. The state Chief Secretary has already rejected this demand in his new invitation for the meeting.

Doctors and senior government officials held separate meetings at the venue to decide whether the proceedings of the meeting should be telecast live or not.
