Savli special POCSO court's decision in rape case, accused sentenced to 18 years imprisonment – News India Live | News India

Vadodara: The special POCSO court in Savli sentenced accused Fakir Manubhai Saraniya to 18 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 58,000 under various sections of the EPCO including the POCSO Act after hearing a rape complaint filed in 2017 by the Bhadwara police station of Savli taluk.

In 2017, the accused from Lasbani taluka, Godhra district Panchmahal trapped the victim in a love trap in Bhadrava police station of Savli taluka of Vadodara district and the rape case was heard in the special POCSO court of Savli. In which the famous Special POCSO Court Judge J A Thakkar accepted the strong arguments of the public prosecutor CG Patel and declared the accused guilty.

In the verdict, the accused Fakir Sarania, who set an example in the society, has been sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 58,000 under various sections of EPCO including rape. If the accused pays the fine amount to the court, then this amount is ordered to be given to the victim. The Namdar Court has recommended the District Legal Services Authority to give a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the victim woman.
