Araria 12 September (HS). Purnea Range IG Shivdeep Lande reached Araria for the first time on Thursday after taking charge. The IG was given a guard of honor by the soldiers in the Collectorate premises, after which SP Amit Ranjan and other police officials welcomed the IG by giving him a bouquet. In the SP office, IG Shivdeep Lande held a meeting with the SP and the three DSPs of the district regarding crime and the nature of crime as well as law and order. After which he inspected the police line being built near Hariabara at a cost of Rs 53 crore. He took stock of the building under construction in the police line being built with ultra-modern facilities and gave many necessary instructions to the police officials.
Talking on the occasion, IG Shivdeep Lande said that this is going to be the biggest contribution of SP Amit Ranjan's police career. He said that police officers work for the society, but only the officer who thinks about his family is perfect in terms of human values. He congratulated the SP for starting the construction along with the boundary. Calling it a happy moment for him, he called it the best moment of his Araria visit. He also recalled that when he was posted in Araria as SP a decade ago, after the exercise of building the police line, land was identified elsewhere.
Earlier, IG Shivdeep Lande, while talking to journalists after meeting with police officials, said that when he was SP in Araria twelve-thirteen years ago, socio-economic crime was prominent at that time, for which dozens of cases were registered. Also, there was involvement of senior officials to public representatives in those cases. Dozens of people were sent to jail in the case and even today this matter is in the area of Simachal. The IG also said that eliminating the roots of economic crime in Purnia range is also a priority. He also said that the youth are going behind the consumption of most important drugs and are committing the biggest cases, even murders, under the influence of drugs. In such a situation, it is a big challenge to identify the drug dealers, especially smack dealers, and investigate their backward linkages and completely stop them and dismantle the syndicate. Regarding the work done as in-charge of Anti Narcotics Cell in Mumbai, Maharashtra, he told that different drug businesses and syndicates are working in Mumbai. They were the ones who used to prepare and sell synthetic drugs. While smack is still prevalent in this area and there is a fear that if this is not stopped then the young generation might get inclined towards synthetic drugs. Therefore it is a challenge to completely dismantle the network of drug mafias.
