E Vehicle Scheme: The government is promoting electric vehicles to tackle air pollution. For which the central government has announced a new scheme called PM-E Drive. Under which, like FAM-1 and FAM-2, subsidy will also be given on the purchase of electric trucks, tempos and two-wheelers. Along with this, under this scheme, new electric charging stations will also be built at 88,500 places across the country.

Along with the PM-E Drive scheme, the cabinet has also approved the construction of 62,500 km of new roads in rural areas. The major decisions taken in the Union Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi include PM-E-Drive and a new phase of the Rural Road Scheme. About Rs 70 thousand crore will be spent on the Rural Road Scheme.

Giving information about this decision taken in the cabinet, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that under PM-E drive, along with creating new infrastructure for electric vehicles in the country, electric vehicles will be brought on the road with new reforms. In which emphasis has been laid on making the battery better than before. Rs 10,500 crore will be spent on this entire scheme in the next two years.
