Protest against cancellation of permission for OPS Tiranga Yatra, employees expressed anger by tying black ribbons | News India

Fatehabad, September 11 (HS). On the call of Pension Restoration Struggle Committee, all the employees of district Fatehabad protested under the banner of Pension Restoration Struggle Committee by tying black ribbon from Monday to Wednesday in protest against the cancellation of permission of Rohtak OPS Tiranga March. State General Secretary of the Committee Rishi Nain said that the employees of Haryana have been agitating for the last 6 years for their legitimate demand of old pension, but the government is not serious on this issue. The employees are being ignored. He said that OPS Tiranga March was being taken out keeping in mind the Model Code of Conduct.

On 25 August, in Ambala and on 1 September in Hisar, the employees had taken out OPS Tiranga March peacefully and constitutionally for the restoration of old pension. In the same sequence, OPS Tiranga March was to be taken out in Rohtak on 8 September, for which the committee had also taken permission from the administration, but due to political pressure, the administration cancelled the permission on Friday night citing administrative and model code of conduct.

Under the leadership of state president Vijendra Dhariwal, employees of all departments of Haryana protested against this dictatorial attitude of the outgoing government by wearing black bands or black clothes and working in their offices for three days from 9 to 11 September. State auditor Vijay Bhuna says that the government has ended the democratic rights of the employees. The government has adopted a policy of repression. He says that in a democracy it was not right to cancel permission in this manner. The right of any person to speak and express his views cannot be ended.

The government is adopting a completely dictatorial attitude. Far from accepting the legitimate demands of three lakh employees and officers of Haryana, the government has adopted a repressive policy against those employees demanding their rights and has used sticks, batons and tear gas shells in February 2023. In the upcoming assembly elections, 3 lakh employees and officers of all departments of Haryana along with their families will exercise their constitutional right to vote for the restoration of their old pension. District head Naresh Jangra and general secretary Ajit expressed gratitude to all the employees and employee organizations of the district and appealed to support the struggle until the government restores the old pension.
