Raigarh, September 11 (HS). Taking action against illegal liquor sale, Kotwali police raided Sahu Hotel Tapri located at Dhimrapur Bypass Road on Wednesday. This action was taken on the basis of reliable information received from the informer during town patrolling. TI Kotwali Inspector Sukhnandan Patel had received information that country and English liquor was being sold illegally at Sahu Hotel Tapri. The police team showed promptness and raided the spot, where a person named Hiralal Sahu was caught with illegal liquor. When the police interrogated him, he admitted to having liquor in his possession and selling it illegally.
During the raid, a total of 9.180 bulk liters of liquor was recovered from near the hotel in a white plastic bag, which included 23 quarters of Desi plain liquor, 20 quarters of Desi masala liquor and 08 quarters of Golden Goa English liquor. The total cost of the recovered liquor is around 5310 rupees. Along with this, the amount of Rs 150 received from the sale of illicit liquor was also seized on the spot. Legal action has been taken against the arrested accused Hiralal Sahu (age 58 years), resident of Jagatpur, Raigarh in Kotwali police station under sections 34(2), 59(a) of the Excise Act.
Sub Inspector Ainu Dewangan, Assistant Sub Inspector Gautam Thakur, Constable Jagannath Sahu and Pradeep Kumar Minj played an important role in this action. This action of the Kotwali police is part of the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor and strict action will be taken against such activities in the future as well.
