Kishanganj, 11 September (HS). Diarrhea is the main reason for the death of children up to five years of age. To control diarrhea related cases, Stop Diarrhea Campaign is being conducted in the district from 23 July to 22 September. As part of the campaign, ORS and Zinc tablets are being distributed among the identified families having children between 0 to 05 years of age and awareness is being created about the importance of cleanliness to prevent diarrhea.
In order to ensure the successful conduct of the campaign, District Immunization Officer Dr. Devendra Kumar and the representative of the supporting organization visited various blocks of the district on Wednesday and took stock of the campaign. In this sequence, while talking to the villagers of many villages, necessary inquiries were made from them regarding the campaign. They also monitored the campaign by visiting various health centers, schools and Anganwadi centers.
In this sequence, while giving necessary suggestions for protection of children from diarrhoea, he gave many important guidelines to the concerned officials for effective implementation of the campaign. During the inspection, SMC UNICEF Ejaz Afzal, hospital manager of the concerned block, BCM, BMC and other health officials were present. Dr Devendra Kumar, while visiting CHC and Health & Wellness Centre, met local villagers, Asha workers, headmasters of different schools and made necessary inquiries from them regarding the campaign. He appealed for proper cooperation and support for the success of the campaign.
