The Afghanistan Cricket Board has shared a post on Instagram. It read, “We considered three options in India. Dehradun, Lucknow and Greater Noida. But unfortunately both (Lucknow and Dehradun) were not available due to BCCI's domestic matches. Along with this, it will also be difficult to play Test matches in the UAE due to hot weather. New Zealand also has a busy schedule. That's why we chose Greater Noida.' Rainy season is going on in India. Due to which their domestic matches have also been affected.
Afghan board praised BCCI
The Afghan board has appreciated the efforts of the BCCI. He further wrote in the post, “We cannot control the weather. The BCCI has provided additional machinery to us. Efforts have also been made to make the ground playable.”
The match on the third day was also cancelled
Many pictures of Greater Noida Stadium have been shared on social media. Electric fans were also used to dry the field. Due to this, the officials associated with Greater Noida Stadium were also trolled. The special thing is that this match could not start even on the third day on Wednesday.
