Earthquakes In Delhi: Earthquake tremors felt in Delhi, know what was the recorded intensity? | News India

Earthquake tremors were felt in the country's capital Delhi on Wednesday afternoon. However, it has been revealed that the epicenter of the earthquake was in Pakistan. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Lahore and Islamabad of Pakistan. The intensity of the earthquake is 5.8 on the Richter scale.

Earthquake tremors were felt in UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir. These tremors were also felt in Afghanistan. Let us tell you that earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and NCR for the second time in two weeks.

Cause of earthquake

There are seven tectonic plates in the earth's crust. These plates keep rotating continuously. When these plates collide with each other, it means that one gets superimposed on the other. Or move away from it. Then the ground starts shaking. This is called an earthquake. The Richter scale is used to measure earthquakes. Which is called the Richter Magnitude Scale.

The Richter magnitude scale is from one to nine. The intensity of an earthquake is measured from its epicentre, i.e. the centre of the earthquake. That is, the energy emanating from that centre is measured on this scale. One means low intensity energy is being emanated. Nine means the highest. A very destructive wave. As it moves away, it becomes weaker. If the intensity on the Richter scale is 7, then strong tremors occur within a radius of 40 kilometres.
