Air Force Wing Commander accused of rape in Jammu and Kashmir, female officer opened the officer's 'black bag' | News India

Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered a case against the Wing Commander of Air Force Station in Srinagar for psychological harassment, stalking and sexual assault of a female flying officer. An Inspector rank officer has been appointed to investigate the case.

An FIR has been registered against the accused Wing Commander under Section 376 (2) at the Budgam police station. According to sources, a female flying officer posted at the Air Force Station in Srinagar has lodged a complaint at the Budgam police station accusing the Wing Commander of sexual harassment and torture.

Rape on new year
In her complaint, the woman said that on the night of December 31, 2023, a party was organized in the Officers' Mess to celebrate the advent of the New Year.

During this time, the Wing Commander called her to his room to give her a gift on the occasion of New Year. The Wing Commander sexually abused her in his room. She protested and also requested to be allowed to leave the room. However, the Wing Commander sexually assaulted her. In her complaint, the victim has mentioned all the incidents that happened to her from the night of 31 December 2023.

A complaint has been filed against the Wing Commander,
The woman alleges that she is being constantly harassed. The victim has filed a complaint against the Wing Commander. But the case was not investigated properly. Even after reporting the incident, her medical examination was delayed and other formalities were also deliberately avoided. Apart from this, the behavior of the committee formed to investigate the case has also been biased.

The victim said that she is being harassed continuously. When and where she goes, whom she talks to, her phone calls and social interactions are also being monitored.

The victim has said in her complaint that she is under mental stress due to this harassment. A senior officer posted at Srinagar Air Force Station said that the Budgam Police Station has contacted the Air Force Station in this matter. We are cooperating in every possible way in the investigation of this case. Both the victim and the accused are posted in Srinagar. However, the Srinagar-based Defense Ministry spokesperson authorized by the Air Force did not comment on the matter.
