Mamata's instruction: Ministers should not comment on RG Kar and junior doctors' strike | News India

Kolkata, September 10 (HS). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has forbidden all ministers from commenting on RG Kar and the strike of junior doctors in the cabinet meeting held at Navanna on Tuesday. The Chief Minister made it clear that only she will speak on this matter.

According to Trinamool sources, party spokespersons have also been instructed to remain silent on the matter.

Protests against the government have intensified over the R.G. Kar Medical College incident and the strike by junior doctors. Junior doctors have staged a sit-in protest in front of the Health Building over six major demands. They are saying that they will continue the protest if their demands are not met. However, the Supreme Court had ordered them to return to work by 5 pm on Tuesday.

In this background, the Chief Minister directed the ministers in the cabinet meeting to focus on work in their respective areas and not react to the RG tax scandal or the protests of the general public. The Chief Minister said that the time of Puja is near and all the ministers should ensure that the situation remains normal in their areas. Apart from this, he has instructed to exercise extra caution in areas with natural disaster warning.

It is noteworthy that on the 1st of this month, the new Chief Secretary of the state Manoj Pant took charge and this was the first cabinet meeting after his appointment.
