The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on in the Gaza Strip for the last 11 months. On October 7 last year, Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 250 people. After this, Israel attacked Gaza and caused massive destruction. According to Palestinian health officials, about 40,000 people have died in the last 11 months of fighting.

Regarding this, Jaishankar said in a meeting with the leaders of Muslim countries in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, 'The current situation in Gaza is now our biggest concern. India's stand in this matter has been principled and equal. Jaishankar said, we condemn incidents of terrorism and hostage-taking, but we are deeply saddened by the continuous death of innocent civilians, he said that the principles of humanitarian law should be kept in mind in any action. He said, “We support ending the war soon.”
India contributed to the building of Palestinian institutions
Jaishankar also said that India continues to seek a solution to the Palestine issue through a two-state solution. He said that India has also contributed to the building of Palestinian institutions and capacities. The Foreign Minister said, 'As far as the humanitarian situation is concerned, we have provided relief. Apart from this, we have increased our support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
