Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held wide-ranging talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is on a two-day official visit to India. The two countries signed four agreements to enhance energy cooperation with a focus on enhancing bilateral strategic ties.
Which includes Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for long-term LNG supply and an agreement between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the operation and maintenance of the Barakah nuclear power plant. UAE will set up a food park in Gujarat, an agreement was signed between the Gujarat government and Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Prime Minister Modi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed multifaceted bilateral relations with the aim of expanding the India-UAE strategic partnership. Global challenges were also discussed between the two leaders. India-UAE relations are progressing significantly.
There are around 3.5 million Indians in the UAE.
Around 3.5 million Indians live in the UAE. Last year, the UAE was invited as a special invitee to the G20 summit chaired by India. In January this year, the UAE also became a member of BRICS with India's support. India-UAE defence cooperation has also seen a boom in the last few years. In January, a joint military exercise of the Indian and UAE armies was also held in the desert of Rajasthan.
