Nawada, September 9 (HS) An old man died on Monday after being hit by a speeding bike near Budhwa Baba near Sarauni village on the Kauakol-Pakribarawan main road of Nawada district. The young man riding the bike was also seriously injured. In protest against the incident, people blocked the road for hours and disrupted traffic.
According to the information, Devan Yadav, a resident of Lalpur village of the police station area, about 73 years old, had gone to Sarauni village to see a land for the purpose of buying it. After seeing the land there, he was returning on foot to Kauakol market. Suddenly, a young man riding a bike at high speed hit him from behind, due to which he died a painful death on the spot. The bike rider Rohit Kumar, a resident of Jhilar village, was also seriously injured.
The local people informed the police about the incident, after which the police took the bodies of the injured youth and the old man into their custody and brought them to Kauakol PHC. After completing the paperwork, the body of the deceased Devan Yadav was sent to Nawada for postmortem. Villagers attracted by the incident also blocked the road, which was removed after careful persuasion. The injured youth Rohit Kumar was referred to Nawada for better treatment after first aid. After the incident, there is an uproar in the village of the deceased.
