New Delhi, September 9 (HS). Banganson hit another brilliant hat-trick as Myangkan Christian Higher Secondary School, Meghalaya defeated Government Secondary School, Yazali, Arunachal Pradesh 7-0 on Monday to enter the final of the 63rd Subroto Cup Junior Boys International Football Tournament. The match was played at Tejas Football Ground here.
Myangkan's team will now face T.G English School, Bishnupur, Manipur, who defeated Sri Lanka Schools Football Association 1-0, in the final at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday (September 11).
Myungkan Christian Higher Secondary School dominated the field right from the start of the match. Bangsan scored the first goal with a brilliant solo effort in the 21st minute of the match, giving the team a 1-0 lead.
A flurry of goals followed as Bengsan scored the second goal in the 36th minute. Three minutes later, Mabanlamianit scored the third from a superb counter-attack. Alistar scored the fourth in the 44th minute when he beat the goalkeeper and put the ball into the empty post. Bengsan completed his hat-trick in the 46th minute when he dribbled past a defender.
Alistar put further pressure on Arunachal by scoring his second and the team's sixth goal in the 51st minute.
Substitute Menatsakheng beat two defenders and the goalkeeper in the 65th minute to put the ball into the empty goal and give his team a stunning 7-0 win.
In the other semi-final, Heroba's 27th minute goal helped T.G. English School, Bishnupur, Manipur beat Sri Lanka Schools Football Association 1-0 to enter the final. The right winger took advantage of a mistake by the opposition defence and his first shot hit the post.
The Sri Lankan team put a lot of pressure to equalise in the second half but the Manipur team displayed excellent defence and turned the match in their favour and secured a place in Wednesday's final.
