There should be no laxity in welfare schemes: Savin Bansal | News India

Dehradun, 09 September, (HS). District Magistrate Savin Bansal conducted a surprise inspection of the District Social Welfare Office on Monday. The District Magistrate reached the District Social Welfare Office located at Survey Chowk at 10 am. He said that there should be no laxity in welfare schemes. The District Magistrate inquired about the block-wise pension application being given by the Social Welfare Department. The District Magistrate observed the status of online application on the portal. Also, he inquired about the information and progress of application of other schemes of the Social Welfare Department.

The District Magistrate instructed the Social Welfare Officer to ensure that no application for any scheme remains pending. Action will be taken against the concerned person if the application is kept pending. It should be ensured that no pension related application remains pending for more than a week. The applicant should be informed timely if any deficiencies are found in the application.

He talked to the people coming to the Social Welfare office, listened to their problems and directed the Social Welfare Officer to resolve the problems by evening and submit a report. The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over finding the pension scheme applications pending for 15 to 18 days and directed to dispose of the pension related applications within a week. He warned that if the pension scheme applications are kept pending for more than 7 days, action will be taken against the concerned person.

The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over the improper maintenance of records in the Social Welfare Office and directed to maintain the records properly. He took information about the application of PM Scheduled Caste Grant Loan Scheme and directed to implement the scheme effectively.

He directed the Social Welfare Officer to coordinate at the block level and make everyone aware of the instructions that the application for any scheme should be disposed of within the stipulated time period and the records should be maintained properly. He also directed that the work of the block level office should be effectively monitored. He directed that the date of receipt should be mentioned on the applications received offline and the details of the records should be mentioned.

Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Hari Giri, District Social Welfare Officer were present during the inspection.
