Kamala Harris recalls childhood memories spent in India on National Grandparents Day | News India

Washington, September 09 (HS). Indian-origin Democratic Party's presidential candidate Kamala Harris shared a photo on National Grandparents Day, mentioning some of her childhood memories spent in India. US Vice President Harris wrote on these sweet memories on her X handle on Sunday, “I used to go to India to meet my grandparents when I was young. My grandfather used to take me on morning walks. He used to discuss the importance of fighting for equality and fighting corruption. He was a retired civil servant. He was part of India's freedom movement.”

She wrote, “My grandmother traveled across India to make women aware about birth control. Her commitment to public service and fight for a better future is still alive in me. Happy National Grandparents Day to all the grandparents who help shape and inspire the next generation.”
