Araria 09 September (HS). Police has solved the case of Dheeraj Kumar Sah who was shot dead in a dilapidated house in Gidariya under RS police station of the district on 2 September. Police has arrested five accused in the case, in which one is from Katihar, one from Purnia, two from Supaul district and one from Bausi police station area of Araria district. Police claimed that Dheeraj Sah was shot dead in a dispute arising due to intoxication.
In his office room, SP Amit Ranjan told that on September 2, a person was shot by unknown criminals in the ruins near Gidriya railway crossing in RS police station area, who died during treatment. Taking immediate action on the information, RS police station, FSL and DIU team reached the spot and collected evidence and the deceased was identified as Dhiraj Kumar Sah, son of Bindeshwari Sah, resident of Matiyari. In this regard, RS police station case number-125/24, dated-02.09.24, a case was registered against five named accused under section 103 (1)/3 (5) BNS and 27 Arms Act.
SP said that for successful investigation of the case and arrest of the criminals involved in the case, a special team was formed under the leadership of Sadar SDPO Rampukar Singh along with SHO, RS Thana and DIU. After gathering intelligence through technical and scientific research by the team, it has come to light that the deceased in the case, Dheeraj Kumar Sah, has a criminal history. He was shot dead by criminals in a dispute between the deceased and the accused due to intoxication.
SP said that 28-year-old Mohammad Mustaq, son of Mohammad Laik of Gulabbag, Purnia, and 25-year-old Akshay Kumar Sah, son of Raju Sah of Bausi Gunwanti, Raniganj, who were involved in the incident, were arrested on 06 September and sent to judicial custody. To arrest the remaining criminals involved in the incident, a special team raided Supaul district and arrested Alok Kumar, son of Sudhir Kumar Yadav, resident of Jedia Ward No. 10, Shankar Kumar, son of Lalan Yadav, resident of Jedia Ward No. 5, Rajgaon. Vishal Kumar Yadav, son of Harendra Yadav, living at his maternal uncle's house in Phalka police station area of Katihar, was arrested. SP said that a car and a motorcycle used in the incident have also been recovered. Raids are being conducted to recover weapons and arrest other accused.
