Team India has been announced for the first match of the 2 Test match series against Bangladesh. A 16-member team has been selected for the tournament to be played in Chennai from 19 September. Sarfaraz Khan and wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel have been included in the middle order. Left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal has got a chance in the Test team for the first time. Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant will also return to the Test team against Bangladesh.

Dayal has taken 4 wickets in the first round of Duleep Trophy. 6 senior players who did not play Duleep Trophy got a place in the team. These include captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. Apart from Kohli, the other five players played the Test series against England in February-March this year.
