Raipur: Preparations have been started for a major operation against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. Under this, CRPF is going to deploy more than four thousand soldiers in Chhattisgarh. These soldiers are being deployed in Bastar, the most Naxal-affected area. There are reports that this operation is being started under the central government's resolution to eliminate Naxalites by March 2026.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the deadline of March 2026 in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur last month. During which he said that a strong plan is needed to rid the country of left wing extremism. Left wing extremism was once considered the biggest threat to the internal security of all countries. There are reports that the CRPF has withdrawn three battalions from Jharkhand and one from Bihar. It will be deployed in the Bastar region, located about 450 to 500 km south of Chhattisgarh capital Raipur. A CRPF battalion consists of about one thousand soldiers. At present, about four thousand soldiers are being deployed.
These battalions are being deployed in Dantewada, Sukma and other interior areas. A senior officer of the force in Delhi said that these battalions will carry out the entire operation in collaboration with the CRPF's Cobra battalion. So that the entire area can be made more secure. About 40 FOBs have been established in Chhattisgarh in the last three years. There are many challenges in establishing such a base. Attacks on soldiers are the biggest threat. According to officials, the soldiers will be transported in completely secure vehicles including UAVs. After which this operation will be started.
