Dearness allowance is to be announced in September itself
The announcement of dearness allowance for central employees is to be made at the end of September. But, it will be implemented only from July 2024. The intervening months will be paid as arrears. Under the 7th Pay Commission, central employees and pensioners will be given 53 percent dearness allowance. If sources are to be believed, it may be announced in the cabinet meeting to be held on 25 September. It has been included in the agenda. Only the formal announcement is left.
Three months' arrears will be available
If sources are to be believed, the announcement of dearness allowance may be made by the end of September. But, it can be paid with the salary of October. In such a situation, employees and pensioners will also get 3 months' arrears. This arrears will be the difference between the previous dearness allowance and the new dearness allowance. Till now 50 percent DA and DR are being given. Now it will increase to 53 percent. In such a situation, 3 percent arrears will be paid. This will include July, August and September.
Dearness Allowance will not be zero
The dearness allowance of the employees will not be zero. The calculation of dearness allowance will continue. There is no fixed rule regarding this. Last time this was done when the base year was changed. Now there is no need to change the base year and there is no such recommendation. Therefore, further calculation for central employees will be beyond 50 percent.
