Shillong, 07 September (HS). Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary, Chief of the Air Force (CAS) attended the two-day (06 to 07 September) annual Eastern Air Command (EAC) Commanders' Conference held at Eastern Air Command Headquarters, Shillong. He was welcomed by Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command. The CAS inspected the Guard of Honour on arrival and was introduced to all the commanders and senior officers.
The Air Force Chief reviewed the operational preparedness of the EAC and complimented all personnel for their achievements in ensuring highest level of operational readiness as well as response to HADR and assistance to civil administration.
In his address, the CAS emphasised the crucial role of EAC in maintaining high operational preparedness. He stressed upon capability development and exhorted all personnel to imbibe the spirit of the IAF doctrine, which envisages transforming the IAF into an agile, adaptive and decisive aerospace force in the near future.
He urged all commanders to continue their efforts to provide a safe operational flying environment and keep pace with global technological developments, especially in the new areas of space, cyber and electronic warfare as well as to ensure a healthy work-life balance. The CAS presented trophies to stations for achieving excellence in the areas of operations, maintenance and administration.
