Katihar, 07 September (HS). As per the direction of Secretary Agriculture Department, Bihar, a meeting was organized with the farmers on Saturday in the meeting hall of Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Magistrate. In the meeting, the main problem stated by the farmers was the non-availability of electricity connection for irrigation, on which the District Magistrate directed to contact the Energy Department and resolve the problem.
Also, the District Officer distributed participation certificates among the farmers participating in the Makhana Mahotsav. It is noteworthy that Makhana producing farmers participated in the two-day Makhana Mahotsav organized by the Horticulture Directorate, Bihar Agriculture Department at Gyan Bhawan in Patna on August 3 to 4.
In the festival, the Secretary of the Agriculture Department had directly communicated with the farmers about the problems related to Makhana cultivation. Today, the District Officer held a meeting with Makhana producing farmers to resolve the above problems.
In the said meeting, the organizer and Assistant Director of District Horticulture Department Madhupriya, Assistant Director of Agricultural Engineering Nishant Kumar, Assistant Director of Chemistry Department Indrajit Kumar Mandal, Deputy Project Director of ATMA Shashikant Jha along with all the block horticulture officers and employees participated. The stage was conducted by Mr. Rajiv Kumar Singh, Mansahi Block Horticulture Officer Rajiv Kumar Singh.
