Jaipur, March 5 (HS). Rajasthan High Court has stayed the arrest of former Mines Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya in the fraud case registered against him in Anta police station. A single bench of Justice Sudesh Bansal gave this order while conducting the preliminary hearing on the criminal petition of Pramod Jain Bhaya. The court has said that the police can continue their investigation in the case.
It was said in the petition that Rameshwar Khandelwal had filed a fraud report against the petitioner and municipality chairman Mustafa Khan at Anta police station on January 2. In which it was said that the petitioner and Mustafa Khan in collusion adopted the tender process with fake documents to lure the common people and get votes. At the same time, they misled the public in the elections by sponsoring work orders and getting development work done through fake tender process. The report said that after the implementation of the code of conduct on October 9, 2023, Pramod Jain Bhaya in connivance got the restricted tenders opened. Apart from this, action was shown in back date by cropping the notesheet. Whereas after the implementation of the code of conduct, no tender process can be done in any way. Challenging the FIR it was said that the report has been filed due to political malice. Whereas in the FIR no crime is proved against the petitioner. Therefore the FIR should be cancelled. Hearing which, the single bench has stayed the arrest of the petitioner.
