Why did you join Congress?
Amid the fervor of Haryana elections, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress on Friday, putting an end to the debate that had been going on for several days. Both were given Congress membership in the presence of party general secretary KC Venugopal, Pawan Khera and other leaders. Venugopal said that we are proud of both the pioneers. We assure them that we were with them earlier and will remain with them in future too. On this occasion, Vinesh also explained the reason for joining the Congress.
What did Vinesh Phogat say?
On this occasion, Vinesh Phogat also explained the reason for joining the Congress. She said that when she and other women pioneers raised their voice against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, it was unfortunate that the BJP did not consider it necessary to support us. In this difficult time, if anyone supported us, it was the Congress, so we decided to join the Congress.
Vinesh said that I am sad to say that when we were united with the whole country, BJP did not support us. At such a time, Congress supported us. I am confident that I will live up to the expectations of the top leadership of the party. I am very proud to say that today I am a part of the party that raises voice for women from the streets to the Parliament.
the fight will continue
Vinesh Phogat said that I am going to start a new innings by joining the Congress today. One thing I want to make clear is that our fight was on and will continue. We have never been afraid and will never be afraid. If anyone thinks that Vinesh Phogat will get scared, then I want to say that we have never been a part of the group of dharna people. We have learned to face every situation boldly and will continue to do so in future as well.
Big disclosure on retirement
After joining the Congress, Vinesh said, 'If I wanted, I could have quit wrestling from Jantar Mantar, but I wanted to put an end to the lies spread by the IT cell.' In which it was said that our career is over, so we played the Nationals but God had something else in store.
