Rajkot: A team of ACB laid a trap at the 'Tea Post' located at Race Course in the city and caught red handed a middleman who was accepting a bribe of Rs. 10 lakhs from the Police Inspector of Matunga Police Station in Mumbai. Following this, a case has also been registered against the PI of Matunga Police Station on the basis of the telephone conversation of the middleman accepting the bribe.
Actually, one of the crimes registered at Matunga police station also included the name of the complainant who lives in Rajkot. Hence a notice was sent by Matunga police station to the address of the complainant who lives in Rajkot.
After which a person named Jaymin Savaliya, who lives in Rajkot, contacted the complainant and said that Digambar Pagar, who is employed as a police inspector in Matunga police station, knows me. He will get the notice he receives settled. Along with this, a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh was demanded to save the complainant from arrest and not to harass him.
However, since the complainant did not want to pay the bribe amount, he approached the ACB. Based on this complaint, the trapping officer of Jamnagar ACB, R.N. Virani laid a trap at a tea stall called 'Tea Post' on Race Course Road.
Where the complainant gave the amount of Rs 10 lakh to the middleman Jaimin. Middleman Jaimin talked to Matunga PI over the phone and informed him that he has received the amount. With this, Jaimin, who was caught in the trap of ACB, has been arrested, while Matunga PI has started efforts to catch Digambar Pagaar and bring him to Rajkot.
