Warner, Neesham, Willy, Brathwaite and Munro will be seen in Gym Afro T10 Season 2 | News India

Harare, September 7 (HS). The fastest and most entertaining format of cricket is back with another blockbuster season of thrilling contests. This upcoming season of T10 cricket is going to be bigger and better and it will start with Season 2 of the Gym Afro T10 in Harare.

Over the next four months, the highly exciting T10 format will travel across Asia, North America and Africa. The season will kick off with the return of the Zim Afro T10 in Harare from 21-29 September, with the Players Draft taking place on 8 September.

Six franchises at Gym Afro have signed their icons and global superstars straight away before heading to the draft, to complete their 15-man squad with an additional 16th player in the form of their global icon.

The team will have six local Zimbabwean players and icons and global stars could also be from Zimbabwe. Australian opener David Warner and West Indies hard-hitting batsman Carlos Brathwaite have been signed by Bulawayo Braves Jaguars, while Cape Town Samp Army has bought England's David Willey and Dawid Malan, Afghanistan's Gulbadin Naib and Qais Ahmad.

Durban Wolves have included New Zealand's Colin Munro and Mark Chapman along with Pakistan's left-handed power hitter Sharjeel Khan and Yasir Shah in the team. Similarly, Harare Bolts have included James Neesham and Joburg Bangla Tigers have included Australia's Chris Lynn in the team.

Talking about New York Strikers Lagos, the team has selected Zimbabwe's Blessing Mazurabani as one of its big players, along with Thisara Perera (Sri Lanka), Asif Ali (Pakistan) have also been included in the team.

The Jim Afro T10 is followed by the second season of the US Masters League, the Abu Dhabi T10 and the inaugural Lanka T10 which will conclude the season in December. Sri Lanka is set to become the second ICC Full Member nation to adopt T10 after Zimbabwe. The Lanka T10 will immediately establish itself as a key event on the Sri Lankan cricket calendar, showcasing the fastest and most exciting format of the game.
