Stock market rose, Sensex and Nifty rose due to the support of buying

New Delhi, 16 February (HS). Today, on the last trading day of the week, there was continuous buying pressure in the domestic stock market. However, sporadic selling also took place in between due to profit booking. Despite this, the stock market continued to trade in the green. Due to continuous buying, Nifty was successful in crossing the level of 22 thousand points today. After the whole day's trading, Sensex closed with a gain of 0.52 percent and Nifty closed with a gain of 0.59 percent.

In today's trading, there was continuous buying in shares of Banking, IT, Automobile, Capital Goods, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Healthcare and Metal sectors. Shares of public sector enterprise and oil and gas sector remained under pressure. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 0.78 percent. Similarly, the Smallcap index ended today's trading with a gain of 0.68 percent.

Today, due to market weakness, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 2 lakh crore. The market capitalization of BSE listed companies increased to Rs 389.41 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading. Their market capitalization on the last trading day i.e. Thursday was Rs 387.30 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 2.11 lakh crore from today's trading.

Today, there was active trading in 3,935 shares in BSE during the day's trading. Of these, 2,192 shares closed with gains, while 1,649 shares closed with a decline, while 94 shares closed without any movement. There was active trading in 2,152 shares in NSE today. Of these, 1,331 shares closed in the green after earning profit and 821 shares closed in the red after incurring a loss. Similarly, out of 30 shares included in Sensex, 23 shares closed with gains and 7 shares closed with decline. Out of the stocks included in Nifty, 39 stocks closed in the green mark and 11 stocks closed in the red mark.

BSE Sensex opened today at 72,406.02 points with a gain of 355.64 points. Due to selling pressure in the first hour of trading itself, this index fell to 72,218.10 points. But after this, buyers created buying pressure in the market, due to which the index rose. With the support of continuous buying, this index jumped 494.95 points to reach the level of 72,545.33 points. However, due to slight selling after this, the Sensex slipped slightly below the upper level and closed at the level of 72,426.64 points with a gain of 376.26 points.

Like Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today at 22,020.30 points with a gain of 109.55 points. Due to selling during early trade, this index fell by about 50 points from the opening level to 21,968.95 points. But after this, there was buying pressure in the market, due to which this index gained 157.90 points and reached 22,068.65 points. After the whole day's buying and selling, Nifty fell slightly below the upper level and closed at 22,040.70 points with a gain of 129.95 points.

After the day's trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, Wipro 4.73 percent, Mahindra & Mahindra 3.99 percent, SBI Life Insurance 3.79 percent, Adani Ports 3.14 percent and Larsen & Toubro 2.62 percent are the list of today's top 5 gainers. Joined. On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation 2.52 per cent, ONGC 0.94 per cent, State Bank of India 0.92 per cent, Britannia 0.74 per cent and Reliance Industries fell 0.68 per cent to join the list of today's top 5 losers.
