Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that India is a peace loving country but the armed forces need to be ready for combat orders to protect peace. He said that be prepared, anything can happen unexpectedly. He asked the armed forces to keep a close watch on the events happening in the neighbouring countries.
Addressing the first Joint Commanders' Conference in Lucknow on the second day of the high-level military leadership meeting, Rajnath lauded the armed forces for their invaluable contribution and efforts being made in safeguarding national interests and furthering the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Promoting unity and integration among the three branches of the military was the theme of the conference Strong and Secure India: In line with the transformation of the armed forces, Singh emphasised the importance of developing a joint military vision and preparing for the challenges faced by the country in future wars. He also emphasised on coordinated, rapid and uncompromising response in case of any provocation.
Rajnath's expectations from the top leadership of the army
Referring to the ongoing conflict between Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas and the current volatile situation in Bangladesh, the Defence Minister called upon the commanders to analyse these chapters, predict future problems facing the country and be prepared to face unforeseen events. He emphasised the need for a comprehensive and in-depth analysis by the top leadership of the Army about the situation on the northern borders and the developments in neighbouring countries, which have become a challenge to peace and stability in the region.
