Bappa said that once I start writing I cannot stop, if Kalam starts writing he will not stop, if he stops then I will not write. Maharishi accepted Bappa's condition. But he also said that it is possible that while speaking a shloka may be mispronounced, so you should also understand the shloka and then write it.

It is possible that very few people know that this great text was written in these 10 days. Lord Ganesha kept writing for 10 days. During this time he was forbidden to even drink water. But he was very tired.
Seeing the rising temperature of Bappa's body and to relieve his fatigue, Maharishi applied mud on Bappa's body. He worshipped Lord Ganesha on the Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month.
But after some time the clay paste dried up and his body became stiff. This is why Lord Ganesha is also known as Parthiva Ganesha.
But when the writing was completed 10 days later on Anant Chaturdashi, Bappa's body temperature was still the same. Maharishi Vedvyas noticed that Ganesha's body temperature was not coming down, so he immersed Ganesha in water to cure him and prevent his temperature from rising further.
