New Delhi, 05 September (HS). India's Advanced Light Helicopter demonstrated its versatility for the first time in the desert skies of Egypt. The Sarang display team of the Indian Air Force mesmerized the audience with a spectacular performance at the opening of the International Air Show. Indian companies attracted aviation and aerospace companies from around the world by setting up stalls of indigenous weapons. Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte visited the stalls of HAL and BDL in the India Pavilion.
The first edition of the Egypt International Air Show formally kicked off at the country's northern airport El Alamein on Tuesday with air forces of Egypt, China and other countries showcasing their aerial feats. The Sarang display team of the Indian Air Force mesmerised the audience with a spectacular display at the opening of the international air show. The Sarang team is known for its precision and spectacular aerial displays, showcasing the helicopter aviation prowess of the Indian Air Force. The participation of the Sarang team in this international event reflects India's growing prominence in the global aviation sector. Five Sarang helicopters have been transported to Egypt by a C-17 Globemaster aircraft, showcasing the military capabilities of the Indian Air Force in long-range deployment.
At the air show, HAL's ALH Dhruv Mark-III demonstrated its versatility for the first time in the desert skies of Egypt. Indian companies have set up their stalls here to attract the international market. Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte visited the stalls of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) at the India Pavilion. According to the official website of the air show, the event aims to accelerate industrialization, digitalization and globalization in the defense, space and commercial aviation sectors in Africa and the Middle East. It includes an air show as well as an exhibition of new products from the defense, space and commercial aviation sectors, which is expected to shape the future of the aerospace industry.
More than 300 aviation and aerospace companies from around 100 countries and around 100 countries have participated in this air show. The participants include several Chinese companies, which brought with them models of various types of aircraft, including the large passenger plane, the C-919. The air show began with a flight display by the Silver Stars of the Egyptian Air Force. After this, the air forces of China, the United States, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and India also displayed their aerial feats. China held a solo display of the domestically developed large transport aircraft Y-20.
