New Delhi, 05 September (HS). Educational institutions of any country determine the direction and future of the country. The contribution of a teacher is not limited to just imparting education, but along with educating us, they also hone our personality, confidence and skills and give a new shape to our life. This is the reason why in our ancient philosophy, the Guru is considered not only the source of education but also the architect of character building, personality building, society building and nation building. On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today addressed the students and teachers of Hansraj College of Delhi University.

On this occasion, Lok Sabha Speaker Birla first of all paid respect to the great educationist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and all the Gurus. While talking about the contribution of teachers in the lives of students and nation building, he said that the place of Guru is at the top in the Indian knowledge tradition. He urged the students to read the biographies of great men like Mahatma Hansraj and take inspiration from them. Here he also said that learning from the struggles faced by these great people in their lives, students should commit themselves to improve the lives of the people and especially to work in the field of education. During the program, Birla was honored with the Mahatma Hansraj Award. Lok Sabha MP Naveen Jindal was also present on this occasion.

Birla further said that in the coming times there will be a fourth industrial revolution and there will be significant progress in artificial intelligence, biotechnology and other new areas. Therefore, it is everyone's responsibility to keep the country at the forefront in these modern subjects of research. He further said that our country has completely changed socio-economically and these changes have been possible due to the Gurus. India is progressing rapidly today due to the ability, efficiency and quality of the students who have been educated generation after generation.

The Lok Sabha Speaker also said that in today's rapidly changing world, the role of teachers has become even more important. The responsibility of preparing our youth for the challenges and opportunities of the future rests on the shoulders of teachers. He said that India has developed today because of the emphasis on education since ancient times. At present, the youth of India are leading in almost all fields. He expressed hope that under the guidance of teachers, our youth will not only learn to adapt themselves according to the coming changes, but due to India's growing strength in the field of change and education, our youth will soon lead the economic progress in developed countries.

Referring to the history of Hansraj College and its remarkable achievements in the field of education, Birla said that Hansraj College, established in 1948, has been a pioneer in the field of education and has made its mark as the top institution of the country. Over the past decades, Hansraj College has been constantly encouraging research and innovation and the students here are being provided an academic environment that promotes value-based education and personal development. He expressed hope that Hansraj College will continue to play a leading role in nation building in accordance with its glorious heritage.
