Dehradun, September 05 (HS). Uttarakhand has received the top achievement award under the single window system operated under the Ease of Doing Business program. The state has been given this award for the initiatives taken in this field for the year 2022-23. The Chief Minister expressed happiness on receiving the award and said that it will inspire entrepreneurs to invest in the state.
These awards were given by Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, at the Udyog Samagam program organized with Industry Ministers of all the states at Yashobhoomi Convention Center, New Delhi on Thursday. On behalf of the state, the awards were received by Cabinet Minister, Subodh Uniyal as the representative of the Chief Minister and Industry Secretary, Vinay Shankar Pandey.
Under the Ease of Doing Business programme in the state, various problems faced by investors are identified. After identifying the problems, favourable policies are formulated to resolve them. A portal named www-investuttarakhand-uk-gov-in has been prepared for implementation of policies and to provide all types of approvals/no objections to investors online. All information related to establishment of enterprise, industry-wise information of legal no objections/approvals is available on the portal. Under the Single Window Act, approvals/no objections related to establishment and operation of industry are provided to investors within the prescribed time limit.
Uttarakhand has been the first state to integrate with the National Single Window System developed by the Government of India. This award has been given in view of the information available on the portal, the legal time limit prescribed under the Single Window Act, integration with other departments, integration with the National Single Window, online redressal of complaints and dedicated helpline features.
The Chief Minister has described this award as an inspiration for entrepreneurs to invest in the state. Due to entrepreneur and investment friendly policies in the state, a large number of entrepreneurs have been attracted to invest in the state.
