Gujarat Weather: Meghraja has visited many places in Gujarat at this time. However, heavy rains occurred in most parts of North Gujarat on Wednesday. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Banaskantha and Patan districts of North Gujarat even today. The Meteorological Department has predicted normal to heavy rains in other districts.

From 6 am on Wednesday to 6 am on Thursday, rain was recorded in 133 talukas of Gujarat. The highest rainfall was recorded in Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha and Mehsana. There are 14 talukas where rainfall ranged from one inch to three inches.

In the last 24 hours, rain has been recorded in many talukas of the state. The highest rainfall has been recorded in Santalpur of Patan at 2.71 inches, Bechraji at 2.40 inches, Radhanpur at 2.28 inches, Shankeshwar at 1.7 inches, Lakhani at 1.5 inches, Jotana at 1.4 inches, Nadiad at 1.4 inches, Kadi at 1.25 inches.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Banaskantha and Patan on Thursday, 5 September 2024. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

Apart from this, heavy rains may also occur in Morbi and Kutch today. Normal rains may occur in Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Vadodara, Chhota Udaipur, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath and Diu.

Heavy rains in the state from 25 to 30 August led to floods in Gujarat. Due to which there was loss of life and property in the state. 49 people died due to heavy rains and people's houses were also damaged. In the current season, the state has received 118 percent rainfall. 100 percent rainfall has been recorded in all zones. Two other systems including cyclonic circulation can cause heavy rainfall. More than normal rains can be seen in the month of September as well.
