Agniveer: The government may soon give a big gift to the Agniveers who are preparing to join the army. According to the information received, the retention period of firemen in the army can be increased after 4 years. According to the current rules, 25 percent of firefighters are retained in service. However, nothing has been said officially about this. Apart from this, there can be many changes in the Agneepath scheme. The government had announced the Agneepath scheme in the year 2022.
Salary and allowances can also be changed
According to a report, the government is planning to make some changes in the Agneepath scheme. Under this, more fire fighters will now be kept in the army. Apart from this, changes can also be made in their salary and allowances. However, the Defense Ministry has not yet issued any official statement. It is being said that changes can be made to optimize the benefits and arrangements of the scheme.
In the report, senior officials of the Defense Ministry said that discussions are going on regarding the period of retaining firemen in service. After this, more firefighters who have completed four years of service will become part of the army. Currently this figure is 25 percent. According to military experts, a retention period of 25% is not enough.
This process may take some time
A source said that this number is too low to maintain the one-fourth figure to maintain ground fighting strength. He said that the army has recommended that the number of firemen retained in service after four years should be increased to 50%. It is reported that the army has submitted its recommendations in this regard to the government. An internal survey was also conducted in this regard. However, top defense officials say that this process may take some time.
